Student Ministries

Pastor Aaron Green

FMC is committed to helping teens grow in their relationship with Jesus as they learn to reach out to the world around them.

In addition to Sunday school and family worship, students are encouraged to be a part of Youth Worship, BLiTz and SOUL groups (small group ministry) on alternating Sunday nights at 6:00 pm. SOUL groups meet in host homes for fellowship and study. BLiTz is a high energy youth only worship held in Benner.

Wednesdays at 7:00 pm, students choose from a variety of ministry opportunities including puppets, drama, helping with the children’s program, etc.

Retreats, parties and other special events are planned on a regular basis. Bible Quizzing is offered for students wishing to enhance their Biblical literacy through exciting competition with other churches.

SOUL Groups

The start of our small group ministry, SOUL Groups, is this Sunday night, January 29th. Each of the three small groups will be meeting in host homes from 6-8pm. Soul Groups is part of the new Sunday night teen emphasis. Sunday nights will rotate between Soul Groups and the large group gathering, whose new name is Sunday Night BLITZ. In other words, the teens will be meeting in home-based small groups every other Sunday night. The alternating Sunday nights will be the high-energy large group gathering in Benner.

There are three Soul Groups. Each teen has been placed in a group. He or she will attend the same group at the same house every other Sunday night. There is a high school group meeting at Emily Allen’s home, a combined high school & middle school group meeting at the Bryant’s, and a middle school group meeting at the Young’s. For the sake of privacy, the group leaders, student lists, and host home addresses have not been included here. This information has already been distributed from within the church. If you still need this information, please contact Pastor Aaron (agreen@faithmemorialchurch.org or 740-415-7053).

The teens are asked to provide their own transportation to and from the host homes. We anticipate, and are prepared, to provide transportation to whoever might need it. We do not want transporation to prevent any teen from participating in this this awesome opportunity for fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Teens are asked to arrive at the host host homes between 6-6:15pm and picked up between 7:45-8pm. There will be snacks and hang-out time the first and last 1/2 hour of each Soul Group gathering.

The schedule below only reflects Sunday night activities. Refer to the other posts to obtain information about Wednesday night options and the date of other important events, such as the WinterJam Concert.

Teen Fall Retreat

The teens had a great weekend of much-needed fun and spiritual renewal at Camp Echoing Hills. A big “thank you” to speaker Ryan Bash, musician Jon Morgan, and the youth staff for making it a memorable retreat. And a special thanks to the paintball guns for leaving red marks all over our bodies. Click on the link below to view the slideshow.
